Each has over 20 years experience in the IT and telecommunications sectors, ranging from small start-up companies to corporates including BT, Nortel and Alstom. They have been working together for more than 15 years specialising in IT systems, voice and data networking, disaster recovery, business continuity and business analysis.
David has 20 years experience in the IT and telecommunications industries, including experience at director level in a number of start-up companies.
Educated to Ph.D level, David moved into the IT industry in the early eighties where he first focussed on wide area networking including software design, development and consultancy, for Internet based systems, in particular those for e-business. The consultancy has included strategic advice to a far-eastern government on the evolution of their telecoms sector, and research into the service management of high speed data communications networks for the EC.
David was Technical Director of 3-S (Software) Limited, a division of Salford University Business Services where major customers included BT, GEC/Alstom and Wall Data. 3-S developed a number of service management tools, train systems for the Eurostar and various metro trains, and a number of e-business applications. David was then Operations Director for netFUSION Limited, a product development company specialising in network, service and server capacity planning and costing.
At ASP Global, David was responsible for the R&D, consultancy and software development programmes focussing particularly on ASP enablement and mobile data projects for companies including Nortel, BT, 4U-Phones and Damovo.
He has helped to develop business strategies, service definitions, SLA specifications and service in-life and business continuity procedures, as well as undertaking capacity planning and risk analysis assignments and various business analysis assignments.
Dennis began his career in the computer industry in 1982 working for Ferranti Computer Systems Ltd where he gained 5 years in-depth experience of real-time process control and X.25 data communications applications.
In 1987, he joined Salford University Business Services Ltd, working on software development, project management and consultancy. Development projects included communications transport services, X.400 email user agents and database systems. Dennis' consultancies have covered fields as diverse as the design of a digitising and CNC programming system to aid the manufacture of aerospace components, defining requirements for LAN/WAN gateways for the European research networks, developing strategy for integrating X.400 and proprietary e-mail systems and architectural modelling of the service infrastructure for the next generation of high speed, integrated communications networks.
When 3-S (Software) Limited merged to form netFUSION in 1997, he was given responsibility for managing its consultancy division. He developed the practice particularly within BT where over 30 projects were carried out streamlining Operational and Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS) particularly in the order capture and provisioning areas.
At ASP Global his responsibilities included development of the company's own services, specialising in service management, and utilising the same skills under contract to Nortel. In addition, he has applied his experience in assisting network service providers and public sector organisations in service assurance, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
John has held a variety of commercial and senior management positions within the IT industry from starting work for Canon in 1984 where he developed a national sales network for emerging EPoS technology that spearheaded the Company’s foray into IT in the pre-IBM PC era.
From there John entered the data communications sector, joining Jaguar Communications where he was an integral part of the management team (marketing) leading the Company from start-up to in excess of 130 employees and ultimately acquisition by Cable & Wireless.
John was International Marketing Manager at KNX a start-up ISDN PC Card manufacturer. At KNX, John forged the marketing direction for the Company including US operations and secured portfolio status for the Company’s product line with BT. KNX was subject to a $28 million acquisition by US based Global Village.
John was invited to join the board of netFUSION where he worked with Dr. Morgan and Dr. Doyle in unifying a disparate range of products in support of refinancing by a common investor for three start-up businesses.
In 1998, John organised a management buy in to Chevin, a protocol analyser business that he transformed into a successful international network management software vendor that was subject to a $15 million acquisition.
Remaining in the network management sector, John assumed the role of CEO at Mutiny Limited where he transformed the business from early start-up to mature business and successfully managed a key strategic international OEM relationship with Toshiba where the Company’s software was used to promote Toshiba’s appliance technology.
John specialises in analysing business plans and providing guidance with regards to investment priorities and appropriate ramp up in resources.
